If you have just spent the better part of couple of hours putting together a “you beaut” excel spreadsheet to do something worthy and have just discovered the Excel Find function (CTRL_F) does not seem to work in the way you expect it then chances are that you have employed formula’s in your worksheets.

You have three choices relating to what is searched:

  1. Formulas
  2. Values
  3. Comments

Chances are if you can see a value say, $2.74 and you search for that figure and are unable to find it then you may have “Lookin:Formulas” selected. Simply change to values and excel will then look for values in the cells and not values in formula’s.
